Presidents’ Message Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club Members,
Welcome to the 2009 Soccer Season.
Your executive board members would like to take this opportunity to welcome the new and returning players.
The Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club (MHYSC) has grown again this year and we would like to send out a special welcome to the newly created division in the micro soccer format for the 3 year old players.
The MHYSC continues to be the largest youth soccer club in Hamilton. We are also continuing to provide the programs that our members expect. Last year we welcomed Carl Horton as Club Head Coach and since then he has, and continues to, provided training for all of the clubs coaches; in all the formats that the MHYSC provides (Micro, Mini and Full Field Soccer).
This year we have expanded our office staff. Please join us in welcoming Lori Anne to our team as Administrative Manager and Marg to the office team as Office Administrator.
Something new for this season, which we hope will be a seamless transition, is a new web based program to assist in scheduling our game officials. Recruiting and retaining officials has been one of the club’s most difficult challenges over the past few years. We thank those coaches and parents who helped out when necessary and for their support. For information to become a game official, please contact the club office.
The board would also like to thank this season’s new and returning coaches and assistant coaches. Without their efforts and love of the game, the MHYSC would not be able to provide the weekly games and/or practices to all the players. Thank you for continuing to be a part of our community and our improved coach development program. This year, as in years past, the MHYSC continues to work with local community organizations such as The Optimist Club, YSAN and many others to provide a soccer program for those in our community who otherwise would not be able to participate.
I would also like to welcome the new members on our board this year and thank past members for their contributions to the club.
In closing, we look forward to the 2009 soccer season and hope to see many of you out on the fields.
As Cliff Marshall, the founder of the Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club once said its, “For the Kids”. Its up to all of us to ensure that the players enjoy and learn the game of soccer and having a lot of fun in the mean time.
