Hamilton, Ontario- January 15, 2009 Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club has expanded our soccer programs offering soccer to children under 3.

With the Hamilton Mountain expanding, families growing and new families moving into the Hamilton area, MHYSC recognizes the need to offer soccer to children born in 2006. Soccer is a popular sport for all ages, and is an affordable activity for a child to join at an early age. Soccer is a great form of exercise with very little equipment needed and is easy for younger children to understand.

"This is a very exciting project for MHYSC, it is a great way for children to interact with other children at an early age", says Nicole Young, Public Relations Director. There is a huge demand for children of this age to play an organized sport, and Mount Hamilton is pleased to fill the gap.

The program will be an introduction to soccer for both the players and the parents. The children will play 4 v 4 soccer on micro fields with the emphasis focusing on having fun. "The goal of the program is to create a fun environment for the children to be out on the field learning life skills as well as basic coordination, with the hope that they will stay in soccer for a life time, creating a healthy lifestyle", says Carl Horton, Club Head Coach.

The soccer program will run on a Saturday morning at Macassa Park from 9am-10am. Each child will receive a ball and uniform. The program will run in a league format with 10 teams being created, each team having 10 players.

MHYSC is now in the process of taking registrations and also looking for parents to help coach. The coaches will receive support from the Club Head Coach in regards to running the sessions and working with the children.

Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club has been serving the community since 1964, offering recreational soccer and competitive for age groups 4-21. Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club takes pride in working with our youth and promoting an active and healthy lifestyle.
