Mark become President of MHYSC at the 2018 Annual General Meeting and is in his first term. He has served on the Board of Directors since 2010 and has held various positions on the board. Mark was the Equipment Director, Vice-President Business and Administration prior to becoming president. Mark played at MHYSC as a young boy and returned as an adult as a competitive Head Coach in 2009 with the 2000 boys and in 2014 became Head Coach of the 1999 boys.
Mark holds several coaching licenses including his Canadian National B Part 1 License. Mark became a Match Official in 2010 and has officiated at the OUA level and OFSAA tournaments. He is currently the club’s Club Head Referee working to ensure MHYSC’s match officials are compliant with Long Term Official Development guidelines. Mark is also a Discipline and Appeals Chair within Ontario Soccer. Mark currently coaches Life Kinetik at the Club’s Academy and assists with the U14 rep boys team. Mark volunteers his time in the soccer community to grow the game of soccer locally.
Craig has been on the MHYSC Board for two years and supports the club’s business development and strategic planning activities. He was previously on the Board of Directors with the Gilkson Park Community Association (Gilkson Soccer). He has volunteered his time to Gilkson Park, Professional Women Council and the Inclusion Change team at Rockwell Automation.
Craig joined the MHYSC board as he believes it’s important to help get kids kicking a ball and staying active.
Claudio was elected as finance director to the Mount Hamilton board at the 2019 Annual General Meeting in October. He played soccer as a child with Hamilton Sparta and Dixie Soccer Club (Mississauga). Claudio attended Saginaw Valley State University in Michigan where he played soccer for 4 years on a soccer scholarship.
Claudio has volunteered in the community as an assistant coach with the Hamilton Junior Bulldogs 2003 Hockey Team from 2012 to 2014 and is a coach within the initiation program (IP) at the Stoney Creek Minor Hockey Association. He has been a house league coach with Mount Hamilton and is an assistant coach with the under 8 girls and boys academy team.
Claudio decided to join the board as his children have now started to enjoy the game he grew up playing and he wants to give back to the community in which allowed him to play “the beautiful game”.
Eugene was elected to the Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club Board as Director of Player Development at the 2019 Annual General Meeting. He played youth soccer for MHYSC and Dixie Soccer Club, winning a Canadian National Championship with Dixie. He went on to attend Robert Morris University in Pittsburgh on a soccer scholarship.
Eugene’s local soccer experience includes being a Player / Coach for Hamilton Serbians in Ontario Soccer League, currently plays for Hamilton Italia in Oldtimers soccer and is a former member of Grassroots Soccer Board. He has been a MHYSC Academy coach for the past six years.
Eugene felt joining the MHYSC board was a great opportunity to continue to give back to our Hamilton Soccer Community and ensure there is a clear pathway for our local soccer players. He is passionate about the game of soccer and his goal would be to give young Hamilton athletes the opportunity he was given through soccer.
Norm joined the MHYSC Board in 2013 as a Director at Large, before moving into his current role of Marketing and Communications Director in 2014. He has volunteered at the club since 2010 coaching boys and girls teams in house league and has coached a 2005 Boys Rep Team at MHYSC for six years. He played youth soccer at Nepean Hotspur and two seasons at Laurentian High School in Ottawa. Norm has worked previously in sports with the Canadian Football League, Hamilton Tiger-Cats, 2003 Road World Cycling Championships and a sports marketing agency, and is still active with Cable 14 on their Hamilton Bulldogs television broadcasts and other local sports productions.
Norm decided he wanted to volunteer at the club as a coach to be involved with his two children and to help pay it forward for all the people who coached his teams when he was young. Norm is on the MHYSC Board to help grow the game of soccer in Hamilton and in Canada. Part of his spark to joining the Board was watching Canada lose a men’s World Cup Qualifier game 8-1 to Honduras which eliminated them from 2014 World Cup Qualifying.
Dan is in his first year on the Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club Board as Equipment Director, being elected to the role in 2019. He brings experience as a player and coach to his position.
Dan played his youth soccer in Hamilton before going on to play five years of Canadian Inter-university Sport soccer, playing four season at Brock University in St. Catharines and one season at Laurentian University in Sudbury. He has coached more than ten years of high school soccer in Hamilton and for the last three years has been coaching boys teams in the MHYSC Academy.
Dan has two young boys who are a part of MHYSC and he wanted to be able to coach and be a part of the club in a greater capacity in order to give back to the Hamilton soccer community!
Fabrizio joined the Mount Hamilton Youth Soccer Club Board in 2019, being elected as Full Field Director at the Annual General Meeting. He grew up playing soccer with Mount Hamilton playing in the provincial OYSL level as a youth.
Fabrizio went on to player Canadian Inter-university Sport soccer at Brock University in St. Catharines. After university he played in Hamilton’s men’s league and provincial soccer and currently plays for Hamilton Italia in old timers first division. He is in his second years as an assistant coach for the MHYSC academy and brings 15 years of coaching experience in basketball, hockey and soccer to the position.
Fabrizio joined the board as his son is now playing U9, and wanted to give back to the club that gave him so much growing up.
