How do I register?

When does registration open and close?
Registration for the 2023 season opened on January 5th 2023 for 2023 Summer Season and is available through our Club website at
www.mhysc.org. Registration will remain open and a waitlist will be created once an age group reaches capacity.
Is there soccer on Canada Day or Civic holiday?
MHYSC will do its best to avoid scheduling games on statutory holidays like Victoria Day, Canada Day, Civic Holiday in August, and Labour Day.
What ages of programming are available?
MHYSC’s House League is open for players from U3 (born in 2020) to U18 (born in 2005).
Now that I am registered, what happens?
Teams will usually be formed a couple of weeks before the season is scheduled to start. We ask Coaches to start communicating with their players the week prior to the start of the season once they have received their rosters and uniforms. Coaches pick up day is scheduled for May 13th, 2023. Schedule information will able available on PowerUp close to coaches pick up date.
When does the Summer season start and end?
MHYSC’s Summer House League Season typically starts just after the Victoria Day Long Weekend (May 22, 2023) and depending on the age group is completed before the end of August.
What is the inclement weather policy?
MHYSC will only cancel or postpone games for weather in the event of a severe weather event (for example a thunderstorm) which may make the conditions unsafe for Players, Coaches, Officials and Spectators. The City of Hamilton will also close the fields for play if they are wet and potentially unsafe. Decisions on cancelling or postponing games are made no later than 5 p.m. on the day of game and will be communicated to parents through the club website and social media feeds. Please

What is the policy for hot weather?
Since soccer is played in the Summer, there may be games or practices scheduled where the weather is hot. The games / practices will still take place with the Coaches and Officials deciding to take frequent water breaks. Typically, games / practices take place either Saturday morning before noon or in the evening during the week away from mid-day when the heat can be at its most severe. Please

How can I help out with Soccer?
MHYSC is always looking for enthusiastic, committed and patient Volunteers to serve as Coaches for our House League Teams. We are also on the look-out for people interested in being game Officials, training and certification programs are available. For more information, email us at

What is included with the registration?
Your registration fee for summer house league includes a uniform (jersey, shorts, socks) which must be worn for all league games, a soccer ball, year-end trophy award/ recognition, and celebration.
Are shin guards mandatory?
Shin guards are mandatory for Player safety.
What else do I need to purchase?
Soccer Cleats (shoes) are recommended for all players of all age groups.

What is the cost of the program?
- U3 to U6 – $145 per Player
- U7 to U12 – $220 per Player
- U13 to U18 - $240 per Player
How does MHYSC create Teams?
MHYSC attempts to choose balanced teams as much as possible based on available Player ratings from the previous season. The Coach and Assistant Coach can protect their own child.
How big is the time commitment?
U3 to U6 Teams in our House League will play and practice once a week. U7 to U14 Teams will have one practice per week and one game. Practices typical last for 1 hour. U15 to U18 Players will have one game per week and practice is at the discretion of the Coach.
Can I request a certain player or coach?
MHYSC will do our best to accommodate ALL Player and Coach requests. We do ask that all requests are reciprocated.
What should we bring to the field?
Players should bring their soccer ball (pumped up) and water. For games Players should wear their complete uniform – shirt, socks and shoes. Shin guards are required for games and any practices, soccer shoes are highly recommended. Parents / Family Members and Spectators should bring a portable chair and be prepared to sit back, relax, smile and enjoy watching the Children play.
Can a player wear jewelry to a practice or game?
As per the FIFA Laws of the Game (Law 4) all jewelry must be removed before stepping onto the field. This includes, but not limited to Body jewelry, earrings, rings, belly rings, bracelets, watches, and necklaces. Please review the Clubs Jewelry Policy by

Does MHYSC offer any refunds?
MHYSC does offer a refund to all registrations prior to any program starting and 14 Calendar days after the program start date. All refunds are subject to a $40 Administration fee. Please

Is MHYSC House League a good fit for my 1st time Soccer Player?
Our Recreational program has players of mixed ability ranging from Players playing for the first time to Players that have played recreational soccer for several years. The objective of Recreational soccer is for Players to have fun, be active and learn the basics of Soccer.
For my U3/U4 Soccer Player, do I need to be on the field with them while participating in Soccer?
A parent/guardian is required to be on the filed with their U3/U4 Soccer player to help with focus and provide a safe environment to learn Soccer skills.
Should I come to the office to register for the season?
Player registration is available online and can be completed at any time of day. If you require assistance- you may come during office hours where staff will assist you with online registration. Check office hours under Contacts as they are subject to change.
Do boys and girls play together on the same Soccer team?
For U3 - U6; our league is co-ed (boys and girls playing together). U7 and above- it becomes gender specific- Boys play with Boys and Girls play with Girls.
Can game times and fields be requested?
In order to ensure a fair distribution of time across fields, Players/Parents may not request a game time.
Parents/Players may not request which field a Team plays on. Fields are scheduled based on availability and field size. As such, the field closest to a Player's home may not be allocated for the Player’s age group.
